Tletxayacoatl: The Snake with the Face on Fire
Born in Mexico City, Brujo de la Mancha an multi-disciplinary artist came from a family that includes both indigenous and Spanish ancestry. His paternal grandmother, a Mexican indigenous who spoke Nahuatl, Tojolabal and Spanish was a big influence on his development as a tradition-bearer. Today he serves as artistic director of the organization of Ollin Yoliztli Calmecac, a Philadelphia-based organization that works to recover Mexicayotl culture.
