An exhibit of Art Collages

Founded in 1988, Vox Populi is a contemporary art space and artist collective that works to support the challenging and experimental work of under-represented artists with monthly exhibitions, gallery talks, performances, lectures, and related programming.

 

“Philadelphia Assembled”, Philadelphia Museum of Art 10/2017

Performance, Cultural Aztec presentation, Art display, and Public talk.

The Philadelphia Assemble is an expansive project that tells a story of radical community building and active resistance through the personal and collective narratives that make up Philadelphia’s changing urban fabric. These narratives will be explored through a collaborative effort between the Philadelphia Museum of Art and a team of individuals, collectives, and organizations as they experiment with multiple methodologies for amplifying and connecting relationships in Philadelphia’s transforming landscape. I took part in two groups: “Reconstructions” and “Futures.”

Exhibition of Art Video

The One Minutes is a global platform for moving images and has produced and distributed over 10.000 video works from makers of 120 different nationalities. The One Minutes offers a platform for international exposure via screenings and exhibitions. An important activity is producing a monthly video art magazine, which is curated by the team and by guest curators. Thirty museums and cultural spaces around the world are subscribers and show it within their organizations.

Making It Better: Folk Arts in Pennsylvania Today was created by the Institute for Cultural Partnerships in collaboration with the Erie Art Museum, Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area, Northern Tier Cultural Alliance, Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center, Community Partnerships Resource Conservation and Development Council, and with assistance from the Philadelphia Folklore Project.

Funding support comes from PicturePA, a program of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency; the National Endowment for the Arts; and the Pennsylvania Humanities Council from their National Endowment for the Humanities’ We The People Initiative on American History.

The art exhibit portrays the work of people who suffer or have suffered from homelessness. Known artist Brujo de la Mancha's creations explore issues such as displacement through Aztec-inspired art.
